My name is Sam Brown. Most of you should know me by now through our CDA Updates and or email discussions. I want to tell you more about myself and why I decided to start this company.
I have 8 years of experience in NFL flag football for my father’s company. I started as a referee in Renton, Washington. Eventually, I was officiating in multiple locations. I became a field manager for the Renton location on Saturdays and Sundays. Combine, the number of kids playing just at this location was around 900. My dad ends up selling the company along with his business partner. That company decided to cancel the relationship with NFL Flag. I worked as a field manager for Spokane and CDA for a few years before deciding to go back to NFL Flag.
I started playing tackle football when I was 6 years old. I started off playing defensive end to full back to quarterback by the time I was 11. By the time I was 12, I played multiple sports. Rugby, Football and AAU basketball. During my time playing youth sports, I had a LOT of great coaches. These coaches focused on fundamentals first then plays. One saying I remember the most “It doesn’t matter how fancy the play is. If you can’t take center snap properly, then what’s the point of the play.”
I had a fun time youth football. Friendship and fun were the biggest part for me. The high school coaches noticed my abilities and were very excited for me to play in high school as I was. Unfortunately, I ran into a little problem the summer before my freshman year. If you have time, read the following article. How Liberty quarterback Sam Brown avoided tragedy and wants to help others do the same | The Seattle TimesIn the end I had a very successful career playing high school football. I was recruited to play college football at Redlands. After one year, I decided to hang up my cleats and transfer to Gonzaga.
Our goal is to give the kids the same great experience I had growing up. This is done through positive coaching, having fun, teaching football fundamentals and coaching our coaches. I’m very happy that you chose 212 Legacy Sports.
Please pass the word out to your friends and family so we can continue to spread the message.
Thank you,
Sam Brown
